Do you think 8 is to old for playmobil and fireman sam?

my son loves playmobil who are always classified as pre school ,i find it ridiculous as they are so detailed that i think totally unsuitable for under 5′s .He still love fireman sam and toy story too.
do you think he is to old?
i’m just asking as his request for christmas were mainly playmobil ,apart from a fireman sam playset.
the playmobil I agree it is for kids even older than him, but should I buy the fireman sam toy?

Playmobil is marketed at being suitable for 4+, and even then I personally would only get it for a mature 4 year old. I loved Playmobil when I was a child and played with it until I was about 12 (I think I only stopped playing with toys because I thought I was too old, not because I wanted to!) A lot of the sets I think are best for children over about 8 anyway. I mean, there is an Egyptian pyramid, and the Roman Colosseum, which are best for older children, when they are interested in, and understand, different periods in History. As for Fireman Sam, if he’s interested in it, and you think he would play with it, then I would say go for it. When I was about 18 my dad bought me a Furby, and I was definitely over the recommended age! Lol. 10 years later and I still have it!
